Paul Gauguin was a French artist and is considered one of the most important painters of Post-Impressionism. In search of a pure and unspoiled form of art, he drew inspiration from exotic motifs and spent time living in Tahiti, where he created some of his most famous works. His paintings, including Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going? and Tahitian Women, are characterized by bold colors, simplified forms, and a symbolic visual language. Gauguin’s art was ahead of its time and had a significant influence on later artistic movements such as Expressionism and Fauvism.
